Effective Weapon Draw
When you are carrying a concealed weapon most people will carry it in the small of their back under their shirt or coat.
Have you ever tried to draw your weapon while being attacked or confronted with force?
Whether you have or have not tried this I can tell you it isn’t as easy as you think it is.
The problem is your shirt gets in the way…
So what can you do to buy you some time to effectively draw your weapon?
Here is a good example of how you give yourself more time.
Here is a quick summary of some moves you can do to gain distance and give you time to effectively draw your weapon.
- Lead elbow to the face
- Rear elbow to the face
- Open palm stiff arm to the chest
- Knee to the groin or stomach
Try your weapon draw like shown in this video example and see if you can quickly and easily draw your weapon from under your shirt five times in a row.
If not, practice mock hand to hand combat moves like the ones listed above and shown in the video.
It may just save your life!
